at the event, staff from the xianning red cross society explained in detail the relevant knowledge of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from a professional perspective. the participating teachers and students solemnly signed the "china bone marrow bank volunteer donor consent form" and accepted the collection of blood samples for hematopoietic stem cells. after more than two hours of filling out forms, queuing, collecting, and storing, 137 volunteers completed the collection. subsequently, their blood samples will be sent to the china bone marrow bank, adding more hope to patients waiting for hematopoietic stem cells to save their lives.

it is understood that collecting and donating hematopoietic stem cells has become a vivid embodiment of the spirit of inheritance and dedication in xianning vocational college. on june 8, 2021, zhang jicheng, a student of the school, successfully donated hematopoietic stem cells at wuhan university zhongnan hospital, bringing hope of life to a terminally ill girl; on may 28, 2024, zhang yongqi, a student of the school, successfully donated hematopoietic stem cells in suzhou, jiangsu, to save a child with leukemia.
