with the coming of mid-autumn festival and national day, the domestic market demand for imported fruits continues to rise. in order to enrich the holiday market supply, the railway departments of china and laos have fully utilized the advantages of the china-laos railway as a major international logistics channel, and have taken emergency actions to rush to transport imported fruits from southeast asian countries such as thailand and laos. since august, a total of 17,700 tons of imported fruits such as durian, mangosteen, and bananas have been transported, with a maximum daily transportation of 115 cars and 2,750 tons of fruits, ensuring that fresh and delicious fruits are delivered to thousands of households in a timely manner.
recently, due to the traffic disruption caused by floods on laos highway 13, traditional land transportation channels were blocked, and vientiane south station of the china-laos railway quickly became an important distribution center for imported fruit transportation. faced with the surge in transportation demand, the vientiane operation center of pu'er train depot of kunming bureau of national railways responded quickly and held an emergency meeting with cargo owners to deeply understand the changes in market demand and implement precise policies to ensure the improvement of transportation efficiency and service quality.
to ensure the timeliness and freshness of fruit transportation, the railway department urgently mobilized trucks suitable for refrigerated transportation and vigorously promoted the use of 40-foot large refrigerated containers to meet the growing transportation demand with a larger loading capacity. at the same time, it actively guided customers to optimize shipping plans, achieve accurate reporting, reduce waiting time, and improve transportation efficiency.
at the station operation level, vientiane south station optimized the loading process to ensure that each batch of fruit can be loaded and set off in the shortest time. through this series of efficient and orderly organizational arrangements, vientiane south station shipped more than 5,970 tons of fruit from september 10 to 15, of which 115 trucks of fruit totaling 2,750 tons were shipped on september 15 alone, setting a recent record.
dai qinghua, head of the vientiane operation center of the pu'er train section of the kunming bureau of the national railway, said that this series of measures not only effectively alleviated the pressure on road transportation caused by natural disasters, but also demonstrated the strong service capabilities of the china-laos railway as a major international logistics channel. with the arrival of the mid-autumn festival and national day, the china-laos railway will continue to maintain efficient operation, bringing more abundant and diverse holiday food to consumers at home and abroad, and helping the economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries to reach a new level.
