our newspaper (jiang wen) reported that recently, the "echoes of the times - dongcheng district red memory intangible cultural heritage exhibition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the people's republic of china" hosted by the dongcheng district committee of the communist party of china in beijing and the dongcheng district people's government and undertaken by the propaganda department of the dongcheng district committee of the communist party of china and the dongcheng district culture and tourism bureau opened in the south square of longfu temple phase ii.

the exhibition is divided into four sections: "new songs of the times", "new brilliance of treasures", "new voices of celebrations" and "new rhythms of youth". "new songs of the times" exhibits 64 national day tribute works from beijing enamel factory, long shuncheng and representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage at all levels. the big red lanterns at the founding ceremony once left a deep impression on people of all ethnic groups across the country. the production technique is the "beijing palace lantern", a national intangible cultural heritage project in dongcheng district. as the fourth generation of national intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors, zhai yuliang participated in the production of the big red lanterns on the tiananmen tower during the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people's republic of china and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the communist party of china. the pair of red lanterns he made specifically for this exhibition are hung on both sides of the entrance to the exhibition.

the "new brilliance of treasures" section displays 21 national gifts made by beijing arts and crafts group and representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage. the work "dove of peace round plate" originated from the first international conference of new china, the "asia-pacific regional peace conference" held in beijing in october 1952. lin huiyin asked chang shana, who had copied murals in dunhuang since childhood and had mastered "childhood skills", to find design inspiration from dunhuang culture, and thus the cloisonné "dove of peace round plate" made by beijing enamel factory was born.

the "new voices of celebrations" section exhibits 24 dongcheng intangible cultural heritages that have appeared in major international events and conferences, such as the olympic games, the apec summit, and the china-africa cooperation forum. among them, the cloisonné "harmony and coexistence" pair of vases is a gift to the 2018 beijing summit of the forum on china-africa cooperation. the vases depict paintings of beijing's iconic temple of heaven and the maritime silk road, implying mutual understanding and respect, working together, and mutual benefit and win-win results.

in the "new rhythm of youth" section, young inheritor lin hongkui used ar technology to integrate peking opera masks into the "black myth: wukong" game. this work attracted the attention of chinese and foreign media at the china-africa cooperation forum news center.

as of now, dongcheng district has a total of 225 district-level representative intangible cultural heritage projects, ranking first in beijing; 367 representative inheritors at all levels; 2 national-level intangible cultural heritage productive protection demonstration bases and 7 municipal-level ones. it is a national pilot district for the ministry of culture and tourism’s “intangible cultural heritage in the community” and a national pilot district for the construction of an intangible cultural heritage data system.

the person in charge of intangible cultural heritage work at the dongcheng district culture and tourism bureau said: "this exhibition comprehensively displays the glorious journey and unique charm of dongcheng's intangible cultural heritage in the 75 years since the founding of new china. it not only allows the audience to experience the exquisite intangible cultural heritage skills and the ingenuity of the inheritors up close, but also inspires the people's deep feelings and awareness of protection for intangible cultural heritage." the exhibition is open to the public free of charge from september 12 to october 25.
