since september 2023, suqian college has launched the "i have a home in the college" project. through a thorough investigation, the basic situation of orphan students in the school has been mastered in detail, and each orphan student has been matched with a dedicated "loving parent". through family-style deep empathy and communication, each orphan student can feel the warm company and warmth of home.
"happy birthday to you!" at the end of last year, the conference room of the school of arts and media of suqian university was filled with laughter. the school's party secretary xu de led the team to hold a warm birthday celebration for xiao wang (pseudonym). as xiao wang's "loving father", secretary xu de not only provided support in his studies, but also always cared about his life. xiao wang was deeply moved by this special birthday surprise: "i didn't expect to celebrate my birthday with my teachers at school, cut the cake, and make wishes. it was like returning to my parents' side."
in order to ensure that orphan students have no worries on their way to school, suqian college has set up a special charity fund, which not only provides financial support for "loving parents", but also regularly issues living allowances to orphan students. during traditional festivals, paired parents will also carefully prepare gifts and consolation money for the students.
from the time new students enter school, the school helps students apply for student loans, grants, and special hardship subsidies based on the different needs of each orphan student, on the basis of coordinating the amount and frequency of various types of funding. from 2023, the school will waive tuition fees of more than 80,000 yuan for 15 orphan college students, and provide more than 60,000 yuan in grants and temporary hardship subsidies to ensure that students are fully financially protected, can concentrate on their studies, and successfully complete their studies.
