the report points out that smartphone manufacturers in the indian marketpublishing products only on these two platforms violates competition laws.

the exhaustive report states that amazon and flipkart give preferential treatment to a few select sellers, prioritize specific product listings, and offer deep discounts to undercut smaller competitors and hurt small brick-and-mortar retailers.

according to the survey report, companies like samsung, xiaomi, motorola, realme, vivo and oneplus have entered into joint agreements with amazon and flipkart for exclusive mobile phone launches.

this anti-competitive behavior not only distorts the market by limiting the supply of these phones on specific platforms, but also puts other sellers at a disadvantage.

smartphone retailers in india have long complained about not being able to offer new models as well as online platforms, causing customers to bypass physical stores to buy them.
