it is worth noting that in july 2016, zeng hong, the former director of wuzhou red cross hospital, was sentenced to three years in prison and fined rmb 300,000 for the crime of accepting bribes.

according to public information, as of september 14, at least seven medical and health system cadres have been dismissed this month, including three managers of tertiary hospitals. in addition to huang yunqi, they also include cao rui, deputy secretary of the party committee of nanfang hospital of southern medical university, and he shuming, former secretary of the party committee of xiaolan people's hospital of zhongshan city.

public information shows that cao rui has worked in the nanfang hospital of southern medical university for a long time and has served as the vice president of the nanfang hospital of southern medical university. he has been engaged in hospital management for more than 20 years and has conducted in-depth and systematic research on smart hospital construction and strategic management.

before cao rui, some leaders in the southern medical university system had fallen. zhu hong, former party secretary and director of the guangdong provincial health commission, who was expelled from the party and removed from public office in july this year, had served as party secretary of the southern hospital of southern medical university. in july last year, chen minsheng, former party secretary of southern medical university, was expelled from the party and removed from office, with the notice stating that he “made a living from his medical practice and engaged in power-for-money transactions.”

zhongshan xiaolan people's hospital is the first town-level tertiary hospital in china. in october last year, the fourth inspection team of the fourth round of inspections of the 15th zhongshan municipal committee entered zhongshan xiaolan people's hospital for more than two months of inspections. the inspection feedback in january this year showed that the inspection team found prominent corruption risks in key areas of the hospital and clues to problems of some leading cadres, which have been transferred to relevant departments for handling in accordance with regulations.
