china news service, tianjin, september 13 (reporter wang junyan) on september 13, the "tianjin municipal planning and natural resources bureau and tianjin municipal education commission wildlife and forest and grass plant specimens donation ceremony" was held at the conference center of tianjin normal university. the tianjin municipal planning and natural resources bureau handed over 60 wildlife specimens to tianjin normal university and 2,345 forest and grass plant specimens to tianjin agricultural college, and signed a donation agreement with both parties on the spot.

it is reported that as important scientific and technological data for the research and protection of biological resources, specimens of wild animals and plants are a common scientific research method that records and preserves the morphology, structure and characteristics of wild animals and plants, providing a scientific basis for the protection and utilization of wild animals and plants. the 60 specimens of wild animals donated this time include 7 specimens of first-class national protected animals, 28 specimens of second-class national protected animals, 21 specimens of third-class protected animals, and 4 specimens of other animals. they are rich in variety and lifelike, and are all made from dead bodies of wild animals that have been received by social assistance and confiscated and transferred by law enforcement departments in recent years. this not only allows the effective use of precious wild animal resources, gives full play to the role of scientific research, publicity and education, but also effectively protects the ecological environment.
liu jie, member of the party committee and deputy director of tianjin planning and resources bureau and director of tianjin forestry bureau, introduced in his speech that the plant specimens donated this time were from the first survey and collection of forest and grass germplasm resources in tianjin. the recorded forest and grass species increased by 620 species compared with the 1,516 species recorded in the "flora of tianjin" published in 2004. the forest and grass germplasm resources in tianjin were found out, and 2,345 exquisite plant specimens were made on this basis, covering the distribution of all forest and grass plants in tianjin and recording many rare and endangered plant species. these specimens will appear in classrooms and exhibition halls in the future, showing the beauty of nature to the public in the form of natural science popularization.
