cailianshe news, september 13 (editor: zhou ziyi)cloud computing and database software maker oracle on thursday (september 12) raised its revenue guidance for fiscal 2026 and issued an investor-pleasing outlook for fiscal 2029. encouraged by the news, oracle's stock price rose about 6% in after-hours trading on thursday.

in an analyst meeting during the oracle cloudworld conference in las vegas, the company said it now expects revenue of at least $66 billion in fiscal 2026 based on its optimistic cloud business outlook, above analysts' consensus estimate of $64.5 billion.

as oracle's revenue outlook expanded, ceo safra catz also predicted at the conference that the company's capital spending will double in fiscal 2025.

super optimistic guidance

oracle's "good times" will continue. earlier this week, the company announcedquarterly results that beat expectations, whose quarterly profit and bookings beat market expectations, indicating that demand for artificial intelligence continues to drive its cloud computing business, has sent its shares up about 15% over the past three trading days to a record high.

the stock has risen 55% this year, second only to nvidia among large technology companies.

oracle also gave guidance for its performance in the coming years. the company said on thursday that in fiscal 2029, its revenue will exceed $104 billion, breaking the $100 billion mark, which means that its earnings per share will grow by about 20% annually.

ceo catz pointed out at the event, "these numbers shouldn't be a problem." given oracle's partnerships with amazon, google and microsoft, some enterprise customers will be allowed to use oracle's database software through these top cloud providers. oracle announced its partnership with amazon aws on monday (september 9).

oracle is generating more revenue as businesses move workloads from data centers to the cloud. but it won't stop there, the company is trying to grow in artificial intelligence as well. on wednesday (september 11), oracle said its cloud computing division has begun taking orders for more than 131,000 next-generation "blackwell" graphics processors from nvidia.

in addition, oracle recently said that it is considering using next-generation nuclear energy technology to support the operation of its super data center. oracle chairman larry ellison announced in a financial report conference call that the company is designing a data center that is expected to require more than 1 gigawatt of electricity, which will be powered by three small nuclear reactors.

the potential of small modular nuclear reactors, which have a power of no more than 300 megawatts, is promising, but some analysts predict that small modular reactors will not be commercialized in the united states until the 2030s.

ellison said the company has obtained construction permits and identified sites for several of its currently planned reactors.
