■the framework of the “millennium city” is launched
the “innovation and development axis” connects five functional areas
the sub-center has maintained an investment intensity of 100 billion yuan for four consecutive years. zheng hao, deputy secretary of the tongzhou district committee and district mayor, introduced that while tongzhou district is doing a good job in carrying out functions, it is also promoting the construction of the sub-center city with high standards and carefully building a first-class urban framework.
when introducing the urban construction, zheng hao specifically mentioned the "east sixth ring road innovation and development axis", which connects the five functional areas of songzhuang art and creative town, the administrative office area, the canal business district, the urban green heart and the cultural tourism area. the ongoing underground transformation project of the east sixth ring road on the axis is a representative "super project" of the sub-center. the builders will bring part of the east sixth ring road underground to "suture the urban space", and then transform the original road into a high-line park. this move will not only increase the regional green coverage rate from 50% to 80%, but also increase a large amount of leisure space for citizens.
the high line park is 14 kilometers long from north to south and 300 to 500 meters wide. it carries functions such as international exchanges, commercial retail, parent-child interaction, and cultural experience. it not only has walking paths, jogging paths, cycling paths, and unmanned tour paths, but also has more than 200 public activity venues. this year, the sub-center will partially start the construction of the high line park, which will become a world-class public vitality space in the future.
■“6+3” industries are poised to take off
25,000 new market entities were established in the first eight months
since the construction of the sub-center was launched, tongzhou district has accelerated innovation and development, focusing on building six major industrial clusters of digital economy, modern finance, advanced manufacturing, business services, cultural tourism, and modern seed industry, and laying out three future industries of future information, future energy, and future health. while the "6+3" industries are poised to take off, the investment enthusiasm of the sub-center is increasing. from january to august this year, 25,000 new market entities were established, ranking first in the city. the financial industry has become a pillar industry of the sub-center, and the district has registered more than 460 financial and related institutions.
wang yongjie, member of the tongzhou district standing committee and executive deputy district mayor, introduced that the sub-center has introduced a total of 102 second- and third-tier enterprises of central enterprises and 67 municipal state-owned enterprises. the first batch of 6 municipal state-owned enterprise headquarters have all been established. among them, the beituo headquarters building has been officially completed and put into use, and the cits group headquarters building has entered the decoration stage.
■the “golden business card” of cultural tourism has achieved remarkable results
the three major projects will attract nearly 10 million passengers
in the northwest of the green heart forest park, beijing art center, beijing city library and beijing grand canal museum have received more than 7 million visitors this year, becoming new cultural landmarks in beijing. the underground shared space of the three major cultural facilities covering an area of about 250,000 square meters is also under construction, and supporting commercial facilities covering an area of about 140,000 square meters are expected to open by the end of this year.
the sub-center cultural tourism zone, which is home to beijing universal studios theme park, has three major projects worth looking forward to. the "wanli" project with a total development area of 500,000 square meters is scheduled to open in the second half of next year. it includes beijing's largest outlet commercial complex, as well as a commercial town integrating catering, social, entertainment, curatorial, and technology experience functions, and will create a 24-hour city that never sleeps. the "vertex park" project brings together international top ips such as peppa pig, barbie, and thomas. the main structure is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2026. the land for the haichang ocean park project has been sold and construction will start this year. after the completion of these three projects, it is expected to bring more than 9 million tourists to the cultural tourism zone each year.
■ regional collaboration and in-depth advancement
signed more than 210 projects with the northern three counties
the chaobai river bridge on changtong road has completed the paving of the bridge deck. the wide asphalt road extends westward to the beijing sub-city center and eastward to dachang, hebei. according to the plan, the bridge will be completed in late this month. by then, it will be more convenient for residents on both sides of the river to travel across the river.
this is just a microcosm of the sub-center's in-depth promotion of regional coordination and linkage and integrated high-quality development with the three northern counties. zheng hao introduced that in order to implement the beijing-tianjin-hebei coordinated development strategy, the executive committee of the demonstration zone for integrated high-quality development of tongzhou district and the three northern counties was established and operated efficiently; tongzhou and the three northern counties have held project promotion and negotiation meetings for five consecutive years, with a total of more than 210 projects signed, and an overall implementation rate of 89%.
