on september 12, guangdong hongyuan basketball club officially announced that huang rongqi joined the team. after consultation between the club and huang rongqi, huang rongqi will represent the guangdong team in the cba league in the 2024-2025 season.

huang rongqi was born on january 14, 1999 in liangshan yi autonomous prefecture, sichuan province. he is 188cm tall and plays as a guard. in 2017, he joined the sichuan blue whale basketball club and officially started his cba journey.

in the past 7 seasons, he played 265 games in total, playing for sichuan blue whales, jiangsu long kentiya, and xinjiang guanghui basketball club, and was known for his sharp breakthroughs and tough defense. in the 2020-2021 season, huang rongqi played 53 games for jiangsu long kentiya, averaging 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1 steal in 28.5 minutes per game. last season, he played 17.6 minutes per game for xinjiang in the playoffs, contributing 6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
