there is an island in the vastness of han river, and the water circulates around the island like a moon. yuliangzhou is an important part of the ecological pattern of "one island, three mountains, one river and two rivers" in xiangyang city. the district has successively completed major ecological restoration projects such as the island landscape belt and the first phase of the central ecological park, and the cumulative green area has increased by nearly 8 million square meters. as of now, the green area of ​​the whole prefecture has reached 13.29 million square meters. the water area around the whole island has reached 30 square kilometers, and the water quality has been maintained above class ii standards all year round. yuliangzhou, with its superior ecological endowment, can provide contestants with a professional, safe and fun competition environment.

as a new comprehensive sports event that combines extensiveness, challenge and appreciation, triathlon consists of three events: open water swimming, road cycling and road long-distance running. this event consists of 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running. the swimming section chose the han river waters with clear water and steady water flow, providing good swimming conditions for the participants; the cycling and running sections made full use of the first-level park roads in the scenic area on the island, integrating more landscape nodes, allowing participants to feel the unique charm of yuliangzhou while cycling and running. the competition is divided into five groups: standard triathlon full-course, half-course, standard triathlon full-course relay, youth and young triathlon.

to ensure the safety, order and efficiency of the event, scientific and reasonable traffic control measures will be implemented during the competition to fully guarantee the safety and smooth flow of the track and surrounding roads, reduce unnecessary traffic interference, and create a zero-interference, no-risk competition environment for the contestants. at the same time, 120 volunteers will be stationed at various key links throughout the event to ensure efficient, professional and considerate services for the contestants and spectators.

it is reported that since august 14, the wechat official account of the municipal triathlon association has officially opened an online registration channel. so far, 335 athletes have registered, including 269 full-distance, half-distance and full-distance relay athletes, and 66 young people and young triathlon athletes aged 7 to 17 from 14 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including hubei, henan, jiangxi and jiangsu.
