“three-level strategy” effectively prevents

birth defects refer to abnormalities in the body structure, function or metabolism that occur before the baby is born. they are the main cause of early miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death and congenital disabilities.

there are many types of birth defects with complex causes. currently, there are more than 8,000 known birth defects, including down syndrome, deafness, congenital heart disease, limb disability, cleft lip and palate, etc. it is understood that the incidence of birth defects in my country is 5.6%, and the number of new cases of birth defects is 800,000 to 1.2 million each year. it is crucial to improve the quality of the newborn population and prevent birth defects.
