the central school of chonglong town, zizhong county was founded in 1922. it was originally named renmin east road primary school of zizhong county. the old campus is located on shangdadong street, chonglong town, zizhong county.
liu jun, principal of chonglong town central school, said that with the development of urbanization, the old campus has a narrow terrain and backward facilities and equipment, and cannot accommodate more students. the new campus will be officially opened in may 2023. since then, the school has two campuses, chonglong campus and donglu campus.

located on xiadadong street in chonglong town, zizhong county no. 1 middle school has a longer history of running schools. the school inherited the zhujiang academy in 1763 (the 28th year of emperor qianlong's reign in the qing dynasty). in 1905, the middle school was renamed zizhou middle school. in 2005, zizhong no. 1 middle school added a north campus on the basis of the south campus. currently, the chonglong campus, which covers an area of nearly 67 acres, is under construction. it is expected to be completed by the end of this year and put into use in september next year, laying the foundation for the pattern of one school, two departments and three districts.
