11 september 2024, beijing - this monday, queen’s university belfast and china medical university celebrated ten years of outstanding collaboration and success at the china medical university-queen’s university belfast joint college (cqc).
a special event to mark this milestone was held at the china medical university-queen’s university belfast joint college (cqc) in shenyang, china, attended by professor ian bruce, vice-chancellor of queen’s university belfast, and wang zhenning, vice-president and president of china medical university.
the china medical university-queen's university belfast joint college (cqc) was established in 2014 under the vision of the late professor patrick johnston to advance international collaborative education, with a focus on healthcare, and to develop future leaders with global capabilities.
over the past decade, the china medical university-queen's university belfast joint college (cqc) has become an important center for health science education in china and the uk, and currently has 525 pharmacy and pharmaceutical biotechnology students, all of whom benefit from queen's university's leading educational practices.
professor ian greer, president and vice-chancellor of queen’s university, said: “i would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the staff of both china medical university and queen’s university belfast for their outstanding leadership and commitment to providing education of the highest calibre – it is inspiring to see this joint school between these two prestigious institutions going from strength to strength and continuing to produce talented, dedicated and passionate future graduates.”

also attending the celebrations were kerry curran, head of the northern ireland office in china, xuebin (donald) hu, british council china, and pat mccarthy, chairman of the irish china institute.
