musk said that in tesla's ai infrastructure structure, dojo is responsible for model training, while the car-side chip is responsible for model reasoning. tesla will launch several generations of dojo chips in the future.

among them, dojo 2, which is expected to be mass-produced by the end of 2025, will be comparable to nvidia's b200 ai training system to a certain extent; and the next generation dojo 3 may be launched later in 2026.

musk believes that technology usually requires three major iterations to reach excellence, so we will have to wait until dojo 3 to know how good the dojo series chips are.

tesla's first generation dojo, known as the system on wafer, has entered mass production. its single training module contains 5×5 d1 chips on a wafer carrier, integrated using tsmc's info_sow technology. in addition, the dojo 1 system is also equipped with a v1 interface processor for network interconnection.
