according to media reports,on september 9, the xuchang women's federation stated that it was applying for a personal safety protection order for the netizen's mother, yan moumou.

the civil ruling issued on september 10 by the jian'an district people's court of xuchang city, henan province shows that the court, after review, held that the applicant yan moumou and the respondent cao moumou were husband and wife and that the two registered their marriage in 1995.on the evening of september 4, 2023, cao and yan had a quarrel over a family conflict and beat yan, causing a second-degree minor injury. cao was sentenced to eight months in prison for intentional injury by the court on december 28, 2023. at the same time, the court accepted the divorce dispute case between the two on august 8, 2024, which is currently under trial.

after investigation, yan's application met the statutory requirements for a personal safety protection order.

in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "anti-domestic violence law of the people's republic of china", the court ruled: the respondent cao is prohibited from committing domestic violence against the applicant yan, cao is prohibited from harassing, stalking, or contacting yan and her immediate relatives, and cao is prohibited from entering and leaving yan's residence.
