recently, the beijing municipal commission for discipline inspection and supervision announced the statistical indicators of violations of the eight central regulations from january to august this year. as of august 31, the city has investigated and dealt with 791 violations of the eight central regulations, criticized, educated, helped and dealt with 874 people, including 8 bureau-level officials, 218 division-level officials, and 648 section-level officials and below.
among the 874 people who were criticized, educated, helped and dealt with, 584 were given party discipline and administrative sanctions, including 6 at the bureau level, 111 at the division level, and 467 at the section level and below. the types of problems investigated and dealt with include two categories, namely formalism and bureaucracy, and hedonism and extravagance.
among them, in terms of formalism and bureaucracy, the problems investigated and dealt with mainly focused on "lack of responsibility, inaction, arbitrary action, and false action in performing duties, serving economic and social development, and protecting the ecological environment, which seriously affected high-quality development." 330 people were criticized, educated, helped, and dealt with.
in terms of hedonism and extravagance, the problems investigated and dealt with mainly focused on "receiving and giving gifts and other gifts in violation of regulations", "accepting banquets from those under management and service in violation of regulations", and "distributing allowances or benefits in violation of regulations". the number of people criticized, educated, helped, and dealt with were 187, 129, and 37 respectively.
in august this year, the city investigated and dealt with 121 cases of violations of the spirit of the central eight regulations, criticized, educated, helped and dealt with 125 people, including 1 bureau-level person, 20 division-level people, and 104 section-level and below; 98 people were given party discipline and administrative sanctions, including 1 bureau-level person, 14 division-level people, and 83 section-level and below. the problems investigated and dealt with mainly focused on "illegal acceptance and giving of gifts and other gifts", "failure to take responsibility, inaction, arbitrary action, and false action in fulfilling duties, serving economic and social development, and protecting the ecological environment, which seriously affected high-quality development", and "illegal acceptance of banquets from those under management and service".
