2024 marks the 35th anniversary of wuling liquor being named a famous chinese liquor. in 1972, the sauce-flavored wuling liquor was first brewed in changde, hunan. in 1989, it won the national quality gold medal at the fifth national quality evaluation of liquor, becoming one of china's 17 famous liquors. it is the only chinese famous liquor in hunan province and one of china's three major sauce-flavored liquors.
