the area will also fully replicate a palace from the joseon dynasty to support the production of films and tv dramas and attract tourists.

"our plan is to create a huge entertainment city," said south korean minister of culture, sports and tourism ryu in-chon in an interview with u.s. media. "the government can draw up the blueprint and provide the infrastructure. we believe that companies will follow us and invest in telecommunications, the internet and financial services."

from music to tv dramas to games, south korea's content industry brought in about 151 trillion won (806.3 billion yuan) in revenue last year, the report said.

the new entertainment city, which has yet to be located or named, is also intended to attract overseas tourists, especially from china and japan.
