according to xinhua news agency, my country's first undergraduate university in the field of civil affairs education, civil affairs vocational university, was unveiled in beijing on september 6.

in may 2024, the ministry of education approved the establishment of the civil affairs vocational university based on beijing social management vocational college and integrated the education and scientific research resources of the ministry of civil affairs.this is currently the only undergraduate-level vocational school run by a national ministry.

the minzheng vocational university offers 25 undergraduate and associate degree majors, including smart health care management, nursing, social work, and modern funeral management. among them, seven majors have been recognized as key majors in the ministry of education’s higher vocational education innovation and development action plan.

the school currently has two campuses in daxing and yanjiao, covering an area of ​​858.32 acres. it owns or co-builds 12 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, 3 skill master studios of the ministry of civil affairs, more than 160 professional training rooms and more than 300 off-campus training bases for in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises.

we have received the "letter from the ministry of civil affairs on applying to integrate relevant resources to establish a civil affairs vocational university based on beijing social management vocational college" (civil affairs letter [2023] no. 89). in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "higher education law of the people's republic of china", "vocational education law of the people's republic of china", "interim regulations on the establishment of ordinary higher education institutions" and the evaluation results of the eighth national higher education institutions establishment evaluation committee, the party group meeting of the ministry of education has decided to agree to establish a civil affairs vocational university based on beijing social management vocational college, with the school identification code of 4111014139; at the same time, the establishment of beijing social management vocational college will be revoked. the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.

1. the civil affairs vocational university is a public undergraduate vocational school, led and managed by your department.

2. schools should effectively strengthen party building, fully implement the party’s education policy, adhere to the socialist direction of running schools, implement the fundamental task of moral education, and cultivate socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics, and labor.

3. the school's majors shall be set up in accordance with the relevant regulations of our department. the first batch of majors shall be set upsmart health care management, modern funeral management, rehabilitation assistive device technology, social work, marriage services and managementand other 5 professional undergraduate majors.

4. the school’s full-time student population is tentatively set at 8,000.
