the african people have the most say in what kind of development path is most suitable for africa. china is a reliable partner for africa on its road to modernization.china media group (cgtn)in collaboration with renmin university of china, the new era international communication institute launched a survey targeting african respondents and found thatafrican youth respondents aged 18 to 24 fully affirmed china's concept and achievements in modernization development, and highly praised and looked forward to the results of china-africa practical cooperation in various fields in the new era.。

the survey found thatthe young people interviewed generally have a very high degree of favorability towards chinain the series of perceptions of their overall impressions of china, 98.7% of the young people interviewed believed that china is a successful country; 94.4% of the young people interviewed believed that china is a country worthy of respect; and 96.7% of the young people interviewed expected to have the opportunity to travel, study or visit china in the future.

the high level of favorability of the interviewed youth towards china is mainly due to their high recognition of china's modernization development concepts and achievements, especially in the economic and technological fields.in the survey, 97.1% of the young people interviewed believed that china's economic strength is strong, 98.2% of the young people interviewed praised china's economy for maintaining rapid development, and 95.8% of the young people interviewed believed that china's economy has made great contributions to the recovery of the world economy.

in addition, 99% of the young people interviewed believe that china's scientific and technological strength is admirable, 90.5% of the young people interviewed believe that china's innovation capabilities are improving rapidly, and 97.8% of the young people interviewed believe that china's scientific and technological contribution to the global scientific and technological field is rapidly increasing.

as a partner in africa's modernization goals, efficient and pragmatic china-africa cooperation has injected inexhaustible impetus into the healthy and stable development of china-africa relations and has also been highly recognized by african youth.. china and africa have continuously deepened cooperation on the joint construction of the "belt and road" initiative and the china-africa cooperation forum and other mechanism platforms, with achievements covering multiple fields such as economy, trade, infrastructure, and people's livelihood. the construction of a china-africa community with a shared future in the new era has continued to deepen and benefit the people of both sides. in the survey, 89.9% of the young people interviewed believed that african countries have benefited a lot from their trade relations with china, 94.9% of the young people interviewed believed that it is very important for african countries to maintain healthy and stable economic and trade relations with china, and 88.8% of the young people interviewed believed that china-africa cooperation has greatly improved the conditions for africa's economic and social development and brought valuable development opportunities to africa.

the fruitful results of jointly building a china-africa community with a shared future in the new era have attracted worldwide attention. as a model of high-level pragmatic cooperation among the countries of the "global south", african youth are full of confidence and expectations for the future of china-africa cooperation.in the survey, 91.8% of the young people interviewed supported african countries to participate in international cooperation projects and programs initiated by china; 89.5% of the young people interviewed looked forward to participating in more chinese cultural promotion activities. in addition, 88.2% of the young people interviewed expected china and africa to jointly safeguard the development interests of the "global south" countries; 89.8% of the young people interviewed believed that china-africa cooperation has injected strong impetus into world peace and development and is of great significance to promoting the construction of a more fair and reasonable international order.

the poll surveyed 10,125 respondents from 10 countries on the african continent, including 3,710 young respondents aged 18 to 24, accounting for 36.6%. the respondents came from cameroon, botswana, egypt, ethiopia, ghana, kenya, morocco, nigeria, south africa and tanzania.
