china news service, kuala lumpur, september 6 (reporter chen yue) the 2024 china-malaysia enterprise cooperation matchmaking conference (malaysian specialty agricultural products special) opened online on the 5th in three venues: kuala lumpur, nanning, and the ccb head office, as well as the conference rooms of each first-level branch of ccb. enterprises from the two countries signed a series of cooperation agreements related to specialty agricultural products such as fresh durian and bird's nest.

this two-day matchmaking meeting is one of the theme country series activities of the 21st china-asean expo, focusing on the cross-border matchmaking of malaysia's high-quality durian, bird's nest and other specialty agricultural products export trade. the malaysian external trade development bureau and china construction bank (malaysia) berhad renewed the strategic cooperation agreement, clarifying that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in promoting malaysia's export trade, cross-border matchmaking, joint exhibitions and promoting china-malaysia economic and trade exchanges. business associations and enterprises of both sides also signed a number of cooperation agreements.

chinese ambassador to malaysia ouyang yujing said in his speech at the opening ceremony that with the release of the dividends of the regional comprehensive economic partnership (rcep), the in-depth promotion of the construction of the china-asean free trade area, and the continued deepening and solidification of economic and trade cooperation, china and asean have further consolidated their status as each other's largest trading partners. as an important platform for promoting economic and trade cooperation and multi-field cooperation between china and asean, the caexpo has played a positive role in promoting in-depth exchanges and cooperation between china and malaysia.

sheng liurong, chief financial officer of china construction bank, said that ccb and the organizers have held the china-malaysia enterprise cooperation matchmaking conference for the sixth consecutive year based on the caexpo platform, and have worked together to create a special event for the caexpo. ccb will work more closely with all parties in china and malaysia to explore opportunities for cooperation in emerging industries, and effectively use financial power to help expand, improve and increase the efficiency of china-malaysia cooperation.

sri ridjain malikon, chairman of the malaysia external trade development corporation, said that he will continue to sign cooperation memorandums with ccb malaysia, relying on ccb's network channels and other advantages to provide malaysian export companies with better-quality and more efficient comprehensive financial support.

this matchmaking meeting was guided and supported by the chinese embassy in malaysia and co-hosted by the china construction bank head office, the malaysia external trade development corporation and the china-asean expo secretariat. about 100 people including chinese and malaysian government and business representatives attended the opening ceremony in kuala lumpur. about 300 companies from china and malaysia will hold about 400 one-on-one video matchmaking meetings to fully communicate and discuss cooperation.
