according to foreign media reports, on september 6, microsoft appointed rodrigo kede lima as the new president of microsoft asia, effective immediately. he succeeds ahmed mazhari, who has held the position for five years. the two will work together to ensure a smooth transition until september 30, 2024.

in his new role, rodrigo will leverage his experience driving digital transformation and collaboration to lead microsoft’s efforts in the region.

he will lead a diverse team of 30,000 employees across 20 countries, committed to unlocking asia’s innovation advantage and creating opportunities for sustainable economic resilience and prosperity.

rodrigo will report to judson althoff, executive vice president and chief business officer at microsoft.

since joining microsoft in 2020, rodrigo has held several leadership roles, including president of microsoft enterprise americas, responsible for managing all enterprise accounts across three geographic operating units: canada, latin america, and the united states.

in his role as president of microsoft latin america, rodrigo spearheaded growth and innovation by empowering customers and communities across 30 offices in 22 markets.

prior to joining microsoft, rodrigo held various national and international positions at ibm, including president of ibm brazil and president of latin america. he has extensive experience in corporate finance and has led major initiatives in the technology sector.

rodrigo holds a degree in mechanical and production engineering from the catholic university of rio de janeiro, an mba in finance/capital markets from insper, sao paulo, and is a graduate of harvard business school, amp 192. in his spare time, rodrigo enjoys surfing, biking, reading, and traveling with his family. he is married with two sons and has moved to singapore from greenwich, connecticut.
