specifically for each brand, byd auto dynasty and ocean sold 355,679 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 35.5%; fangchengbao automobile sold 4,876 vehicles, denza automobile sold 9,989 vehicles, and yangwang automobile sold 310 vehicles.
the continuous increase in sales also allowed byd to submit a good financial report in the first half of the year. the announcement showed that byd's revenue in the first half of the year was 301.127 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.76%; net profit was 14.113 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.37%; net profit attributable to shareholders was 13.631 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.44%; gross profit margin was 20.01%, a year-on-year increase of 1.68%, achieving both increased revenue and increased profits.

since entering 2024, chery's overall sales have been stable. except for february, when sales were only 143,000 vehicles due to the spring festival holiday, sales in other months have exceeded 180,000 vehicles. among them, sales in january were 201,000 vehicles, march was 182,000 vehicles, april was 182,000 vehicles, may was 189,000 vehicles, june was 200,000 vehicles, and july was 196,000 vehicles. august sales were 212,000 vehicles, which was the first time this year and the second time in history that sales exceeded the 210,000 mark.
geely is catching up
in addition, geely auto is also accelerating a new round of new energy growth cycle with its multi-brand new energy intelligent layout and overseas strategy. in august, geely auto sold 181,229 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 21%, of which new energy vehicles and overseas exports both hit record highs.
specifically, new energy vehicle sales in august were 75,484 units, accounting for 42% of total sales, a year-on-year increase of 65%; overseas export sales were 45,045 units, a year-on-year increase of 98%.
