penghui energy said that the energy density of the solid-state battery is 280wh/kg. in 2025, with the use of a higher proportion of silicon-based negative electrodes on the material side, the energy density will reach more than 300wh/kg. penghui energy expects to start pilot research and development and small-scale production in 2025, and officially establish a production line and mass production in 2026.

then, on august 29, the qingdao institute of bioenergy and process technology of the chinese academy of sciences announced on its official wechat account that it had made important progress in high-capacity cathode materials for sulfide all-solid-state batteries. it is reported that the institute recently developed a high-energy, long-cycle all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery based on a lithium sulfide cathode, with an energy density of more than 600wh/kg. compared with commercial lithium-ion batteries, its energy density is more than 1 times higher; and because it does not use rare metals, it completely solves the problem of high cost of lithium battery cathode materials.
