this year marks the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of the drug administration law of the people's republic of china. from september 2 to 8, the "national drug safety publicity week" with the theme of "good laws to safeguard drug safety" was held across the country. during the publicity week, drug regulatory authorities in beijing, tianjin and hebei will jointly organize online knowledge competitions and other activities. beijing will host the national medical products administration's medical device clinical trial institution seminar, the national medical products administration evaluation center's "join hands to build a drug safety line of defense" theme publicity activities, and host three open day activities to widely publicize legal knowledge to the public and corporate personnel and popularize common sense of drug safety.
among them, a bridge of school-enterprise cooperation will be built, and teachers and students of beijing-affiliated universities will be invited to visit innovative enterprises; public representatives will be invited to visit the "atomic high-tech museum" of radioactive drug companies to gain an in-depth understanding of the development and application of radioactive drugs; public representatives will be invited to visit the municipal drug inspection institute to visit the newly upgraded science exhibition hall, specimen museum and cosmetics laboratory. in addition, zhongguancun dongsheng international science park, zhongguancun medical device park, yizhuang biomedicine park and daxing zhongguancun medical device park will hold a "policy into the park" policy presentation meeting for enterprises. market supervision departments in all districts of the city will combine regional characteristics, give play to the role of pharmacists, pharmaceutical experts and related professional groups, and carry out segmented and differentiated science popularization activities on safe drug use for special groups such as children and the elderly.
the pharmaceutical and health industry is one of the "dual engines" that boost beijing's innovative development. since 2020, a total of 13 innovative drugs and 70 class iii innovative medical devices have been approved for marketing in the city. among them, 14 drugs have been included in the priority review and breakthrough treatment varieties of the national medical products administration this year, and 7 class iii innovative medical devices, 4 class ii innovative medical devices, and 11 artificial intelligence products have been approved for marketing. the number of innovative products and r&d vitality are both among the best in the country. it is estimated that by 2026, the total scale of the city's pharmaceutical and health industry will reach 1.25 trillion yuan, with 10 new innovative drugs and 30 new innovative medical devices approved for marketing.
