it is understood that the reason for the seizure of aiways is that aiways owes employees wages. since april 2023, aiways has been exposed to wage arrears, and then social security and provident fund are also required to be paid by employees themselves. the company has notified employees that the labor contract will be changed to shanghai yiwei home company from may 1, 2023, and the funds will be deposited into the designated account before may 25, promising to return the funds after the company is operating normally.

however, aiways failed to settle employee wages and related social security and provident fund expenses before the promised july 10, 2023. this led to a large number of employees complaining to relevant departments, but the problem has not been resolved. according to the china enforcement information disclosure network, aiways' parent company, jiangxi yiwei automobile manufacturing co., ltd., was listed as a debtor or a dishonest debtor by the court for repeatedly refusing to perform the execution and settlement agreement and violating the property reporting system. at present, the company has 35 debtor information, with a cumulative execution amount of 67.508 million yuan, 82 records of dishonest debtors and 97 consumption restriction orders.

aiways was established in february 2017. its legal representative is zhang yang, and its registered capital is about rmb 868 million. the company is jointly held by ningbo meishan free trade zone kaijiu investment management co., ltd., huzhou aochi investment partnership (limited partnership), and ningbo meishan free trade zone wending investment co., ltd. under catl. aiways was founded by fu qiang, who has held important positions in many well-known auto companies. its headquarters is located in shanghai changyanggu creative industrial park, and its production base is located in shangrao city, jiangxi province.

since 2023, aiways has been facing production and operation difficulties, and its capital chain has problems, resulting in the inability to pay employees' salaries on time. the shanghai changyang valley creative industrial park was forced to move out due to long-term rent arrears, and the shangrao factory in jiangxi province has also been shut down for a long time. in addition, aiways was sued by suppliers for overdue payments and even faced bankruptcy.
