li yonghong said that climate change is a common challenge facing mankind, and it requires all countries in the world to work together to respond. china and african countries are also affected by climate change and have been actively responding to climate change. the "china-africa cooperation declaration on addressing climate change" decided to establish a strategic partnership between china and africa in addressing climate change in the new era and launch a special action plan on addressing climate change between china and africa. so far, china has signed 19 memorandums of understanding on south-south cooperation in addressing climate change with 17 african countries.
he introduced that in terms of the construction of low-carbon demonstration zones, china and seychelles signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of low-carbon demonstration zones for south-south cooperation in addressing climate change, and are studying and promoting cooperation with nigeria and other countries in building low-carbon demonstration zones.

in september 2023, china proposed to implement the "african light belt" project for cooperation in addressing climate change. the project will focus on promoting the cooperation needs of photovoltaic resource endowment and clean energy development, and create a china-africa photovoltaic resource application cooperation demonstration belt through "material assistance, exchanges and dialogues, joint research, and capacity building" to help relevant african countries solve the problem of electricity difficulties. china also held a special training course on the "african light belt" for south-south cooperation on climate change to improve the capacity of african countries to deal with climate change. in the future, china is willing to further strengthen comprehensive coordination and cooperation with african countries in the field of addressing climate change, jointly enhance the ability to address climate change, and inject more positive energy into building a fair, reasonable, cooperative and win-win global climate governance system.
regarding china's cooperation with morocco on climate change, li yonghong said that china and morocco are both developing countries and have similar positions on the issue of climate change. they have maintained coordination and cooperation through platforms such as the group of 77 and china, effectively safeguarding the common interests of developing countries.
he said that china is willing to continue to strengthen communication and coordination with morocco and looks forward to working with morocco to jointly uphold multilateralism, adhere to the goals, principles and institutional arrangements of the united nations framework convention on climate change and its paris agreement, safeguard the interests of developing countries, work together to promote the full and effective implementation of the paris agreement, and make positive contributions to the global response to climate change.
