russia today reported on september 1 that russian presidential press secretary dmitry peskov said in an interview with russia channel 1 that russia-us relations are at a historical low and he does not believe that relations between the two sides will be able to gradually improve in the foreseeable future.

he stressed that the united states has been trampling on russia's interests and exerting pressure for decades.

peskov said that relations between the two countries had reached a "breaking point" during biden's presidency, stressing that by supporting ukraine, the us government had shown an openly hostile stance toward russia.

he said that just in the middle of president biden's term, the deterioration of russia-us relations reached its peak, and bilateral relations may now be at a historic low, with no signs of warming up in the future.

peskov also said that although the united states sometimes makes some contrary remarks (in favor of ukraine), it is indeed directly involved in the ukrainian conflict.

in addition, former us president trump has repeatedly promised that if he is re-elected, the russia-ukraine conflict will be resolved within 24 hours. trump also said that he had a good relationship with russian president putin during his tenure and that the conflict would never break out during his tenure. peskov expressed doubts about these remarks by trump.

"i think there is no magic wand, it is impossible to accomplish all this in one day. but if we assume that the next us president declares in his inaugural address that the us supports peace and therefore will stop supporting ukraine, then some people's minds will change," peskov said.
