byd's new energy vehicle sales hit a new high. since march this year, its monthly sales have exceeded 300,000 units for six consecutive months; leapmotor has become the third new car manufacturer with monthly sales exceeding 30,000 units, the first two being ideal and wenjie; nio's sales have exceeded 20,000 units for four consecutive months; xiaomi motors has achieved the delivery target of over 10,000 units for three consecutive months.

byd's sales of new energy vehicles in august reached 373,100 units, a year-on-year increase of nearly 36%; its cumulative sales from january to august reached 2,328,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 29.92%, of which 148,500 units were pure electric passenger vehicles.

in august, ideal auto delivered 48,100 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 37.8%. from january to august, a total of 288,100 vehicles were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 38%. as of august 31, 2024, ideal auto has delivered a total of 921,500 vehicles.

in august, seres sold 36,200 new energy vehicles, up 479.55% year-on-year. from january to august, its cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 279,300 units, up 381.75% year-on-year.

gac aion’s global sales in august reached 35,400 units, of which the aion tyrannosaurus rex delivered more than 6,000 units in the first month after its launch.

leapmotor delivered 30,300 vehicles in august, becoming the third new car manufacturer with monthly sales exceeding 30,000, a year-on-year increase of more than 113.5% and a month-on-month increase of more than 7.1%.

nio delivered 20,200 new cars in august, a year-on-year increase of about 4%, and it has exceeded 20,000 for four consecutive months. from january to august this year, a total of 128,100 new cars were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 35.77%. so far, nio has delivered a total of 577,700 new cars.

zeekr auto delivered 18,000 vehicles in august, up 46% year-on-year and 15% month-on-month; from january to august, it delivered a total of 121,500 vehicles, up 81% year-on-year. so far, zeekr has delivered more than 310,000 vehicles.

xpeng motors delivered a total of 14,000 new vehicles in august, up 3% year-on-year and 26% month-on-month. from january to august, a total of 77,200 new vehicles were delivered, up 17% year-on-year.

xiaomi motors delivered more than 10,000 vehicles in august, and has now achieved the 10,000-vehicle delivery target for three consecutive months. xiaomi motors expects to complete its annual delivery target of 100,000 vehicles ahead of schedule in november.

in august, lantu auto delivered a total of 6,156 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 54%; the cumulative sales volume from january to august was 42,500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 90%.

zhiji auto delivered 6,117 vehicles in august, a year-on-year increase of 239%, exceeding 6,000 vehicles for three consecutive months.

in addition, several traditional automakers also released their production and sales data for august.

great wall motors sold 94,500 vehicles in august, down 17.21% from the same period last year. among them, haval brand sales were 56,200 vehicles, down 15.57% year-on-year; wey brand sales were 3,001 vehicles, down 46.58% year-on-year; great wall pickup sales were 13,700 vehicles, down 19.50% year-on-year; ora brand sales were 5,151 vehicles, down 49.53% year-on-year; tank brand sales were 16,400 vehicles, up 11.42% year-on-year. from january to august, great wall motors' cumulative sales were 745,400 vehicles, up 0.4% year-on-year.

geely auto sold 181,200 vehicles in august, up 21% year-on-year; pure electric vehicle sales were 47,000, up 56% year-on-year; plug-in hybrid vehicle sales were 28,400, up 82% year-on-year. from january to august, geely auto's cumulative sales were 1.2877 million vehicles, up 34% year-on-year.
