at noon on august 30, xpeng motors announced that xpeng mona m03 received over 30,000 orders within 48 hours of its launch, and started delivery at the chengdu auto show. on the same day, at the zhaoqing base of xpeng motors in zhaoqing high-tech zone, the new mona m03 cars that had been mass-produced were ready to go.
the long-awaited mona m03, which was officially unveiled on august 27, is positioned as an "intelligent pure electric hatchback coupe" with a total of 3 models. it adopts ai quantitative aesthetic design to create a "new 3 series in the intelligent era."
its launch also means that high-end intelligent driving a-class cars will be mass-produced in zhaoqing first. the cooperation between xiaopeng motors and zhaoqing will be further deepened and implemented, and the momentum of the new energy vehicle industry cluster in zhaoqing high-tech zone will be further stimulated.
since settling in zhaoqing hi-tech zone in 2017, xiaopeng motors has continuously increased its investment and expanded its production with the strong support of zhaoqing municipal party committee, municipal government and zhaoqing hi-tech zone, and has achieved rapid and vigorous development, becoming a leading enterprise in zhaoqing's new energy vehicle industry. the xiaopeng p7 it produces also set a record for the fastest production of 10,000 vehicles for a single model among the "new forces in car manufacturing."
in 2023, zhaoqing and zhaoqing high-tech zone once again joined hands with xiaopeng motors. the xiaopeng intelligent new energy vehicle new model project was successfully signed and introduced to the zhaoqing base for production, jointly building an important base for the national new energy vehicle industry with zhaoqing city.
on january 26 this year, the xiaopeng motors zhaoqing factory officially launched a new model production line transformation project, which upgraded the vehicle production line to increase production capacity and sales. zhaoqing high-tech zone has taken the cultivation and development of the new energy vehicle industry as the "number one project" to promote the high-quality economic development of the entire region. in recent years, it has built the dawang new energy intelligent automobile industrial city and the "10,000 mu and 100 billion" platform with high standards. since this year, it has continued to focus on the construction of "dual cores and one city", promoting the expansion and strengthening of the new energy vehicle industry and promoting the positive development of xiaopeng motors.
the mass production of mona m03 is also a response from the district. at the beginning of this year, zhaoqing high-tech zone successfully introduced the bojun auto parts production project invested by jiangsu bojun industrial technology co., ltd., a first-tier supplier of xiaopeng motors, and opened a green channel for key projects, providing enterprises with "mother-like" services throughout the entire chain and process, actively coordinating with relevant departments to solve the difficulties and problems encountered in the project business approval process, and promoting the rapid advancement of the bojun project and smooth trial production.
the commissioning of this project will effectively promote the localization of parts for xiaopeng motors' new vehicle models. at present, xiaopeng motors has established the zhaoqing xiaopeng intelligent manufacturing research institute and sales company in zhaoqing high-tech zone, and will build the zhaoqing base into a comprehensive vehicle base integrating production, r&d, sales and after-sales.
at present, zhaoqing dawang new energy intelligent automobile industrial city and xiaopeng intelligent automobile supporting parts industrial park have been listed as guangdong provincial auto parts special industrial parks, and are the key positions for the development of new energy vehicle and auto parts industries in the province. there are more than 70 enterprises related to the new energy vehicle industry chain in zhaoqing high-tech zone, covering automobile manufacturing, three-electric system manufacturing, air conditioning seat system and other auto parts manufacturing, automobile modification film and other auto aftermarket, industry chain supporting equipment manufacturing, technical services and other industrial fields.
