tesla plans to show off its much-anticipated robotaxi at an event at warner bros. discovery’s movie studio on october 10, according to bloomberg.

the event is located in burbank, los angeles, california, usa. it has a 110-acre site with 29 studios, where famous works such as "batman" and "friends" were filmed.

in 2016, musk also demonstrated tesla's solar roof products in a hollywood studio, which was on the set of the famous american tv series "desperate housewives".

tesla moved its headquarters to austin, texas in december 2021, but its design studio remains located in hawthorne, california, in the los angeles area.

tesla ceo elon musk did not respond to a request for comment. a spokesman for warner bros. did not immediately comment. musk is expected to provide more details about the robotaxi at the los angeles event.

the robotaxi unveiling was originally scheduled for august 8, but tesla postponed the event in july because musk requested design changes and the company needed more time to make a prototype for display. in a july earnings call, musk also confirmed that the planned release of robotaxi would be postponed to october 10.

musk has been prioritizing autonomous driving and artificial intelligence as a shift away from tesla's core electric car business. tesla is also creating a proprietary ride-hailing app powered by a fleet of specially designed robotaxis and vehicles that don't require human drivers.

when tesla released its financial report in july this year, it said that the timing of robotaxi deployment depends on technological progress and regulatory approval. given its huge potential value, the company is actively seizing this opportunity. in terms of ai software and hardware, tesla mentioned that it continues to make progress in the development of software and hardware for autonomous driving and robotaxi services. tesla expects that robotaxi products will continue to implement a revolutionary "unboxed" manufacturing strategy.

wall street generally believes that tesla's future growth will mainly come from the execution of ai projects, especially robotaxi and the humanoid robot optimus. this is also the reason why tesla's stock price has been supported amid weak electric vehicle sales.

tesla shares rose 3.8% on friday, outperforming the broader u.s. stock market.
