heishanke township was one of the worst-hit areas in the disaster caused by heavy rain, and the heishanke township primary school, located in a low-lying area, was particularly severely damaged. "the school gate was washed open by the flood, the playground collapsed, the flood poured into the classrooms, and many walls were destroyed, leaving a mess." yu jinglai said that the deepest water in the school was more than 1 meter. after the flood receded, a layer of silt was left on the ground, the thickest of which was nearly 30 centimeters.
starting from august 21, heishanke township primary school began to clear silt, repair damaged walls and collapsed playgrounds, and all post-disaster reconstruction work was carried out at full speed. "all 64 faculty and staff of the school were mobilized, but the strength was still limited. we can restore it to its current state thanks to the great help from all walks of life," said yu jing.

this reporter learned from the jianchang county education bureau that, according to preliminary statistics, a total of 52 schools in the county suffered water damage due to heavy rains. among them, heishanke township primary school and yangshuwanzi township primary school suffered the most serious damage due to their low-lying terrain. part of the playground collapsed, and infrastructure such as courtyard walls, cafeterias, wells, transformers, and teaching facilities and equipment such as computers, desks and chairs were soaked in water. some teaching buildings and school roofs leaked.
after the disaster, the jianchang county education bureau cooperated with the militia of the people's armed forces, the fire rescue brigade, the housing and construction department and other departments to jointly clear the silt, repair and rebuild the schools. "now, the silt removal work in the teaching buildings, canteens, toilets and playgrounds of various schools has been basically completed, and the two primary schools with the most serious damage have also been basically repaired." said a relevant person in charge of the jianchang county education bureau.
in addition, the dredging of water wells in 56 schools in jianchang county has been completed, and disinfection and repeated pumping are being carried out. the installed water purifiers will be put into use before september 1, and the campus environment disinfection work is underway.
