wei yaofei's lingxiu luggage factory has an area of ​​more than 16,000 square meters. it mainly produces customized high-end luggage. there are currently two production lines, one for producing aluminum frame trolley cases and one for producing zipper suitcases. in december 2023, the lingxiu factory officially began to build the foundation, and the roof was capped in march this year. after a round of local recruitment, the lingxiu factory was put into operation in may, and there was a scene of hard work in the factory.

like lingxiu luggage company, hunan xianghuai luggage manufacturing co., ltd. was officially completed and put into production in august this year. mou xiaofeng, chairman of xianghuai luggage company, was originally from huaihua. he once opened a well-known luggage company in shanghai, shanghai newent industrial co., ltd., and returned to huaihua in 2022 with a strong hometown complex to invest and build a factory.

mou xiaofeng first established hunan xiangtong industrial co., ltd. in huitong county, huaihua, invested 500 million yuan to build a luggage production and manufacturing project with an annual output of 6 million pieces, and then added 10 million yuan in investment in huitong county; in 2023, mou xiaofeng again added 500 million yuan to build a second phase project with an annual output of 6 million pieces of luggage in huaihua international land port economic development zone, which is now xianghuai luggage.

"the factory area currently in use by hunan xianghuai luggage is more than 50,000 square meters, with more than 280 employees. there are 18 production lines, which can achieve the goal of producing 5 million pieces of luggage annually," said chen sheng, general manager of xianghuai luggage company.

investors who come to huaihua to become bosses are not "insane". they see the development opportunities brought by huaihua international land port and huaihua's sincerity in developing the luggage industry.

as the first city in the central region to realize the two-way operation of china-laos and china-vietnam international trains, huaihua has the only international land port in hunan, which can help luggage to be exported overseas and expand the international market. in april 2023, the first hunan luggage export train departed from huaihua international land port to poland. mou xiaofeng said that by transporting luggage through huaihua international land port, the logistics cost per cabinet can be reduced by about 1,500 yuan, and the cost can be reduced by half.

at the same time, in 2023, the huaihua municipal party committee and municipal government scientifically assessed the major supporting industries of the international land port, and proposed to focus on supporting the luggage and leather goods industry chain as one of the advanced manufacturing industry chains, and incorporate it into huaihua's "5+n" modern industrial new system. it proposed the strategic goal of building huaihua into an "international luggage capital" within five years, set up a special working group, and launched a series of measures to vigorously promote it.

two years ago, there was no sign of luggage and leather goods in huaihua's industrial landscape. two years later, the upstream and downstream related industries of luggage and leather goods have gathered in huaihua, and a 10 billion yuan industry is about to emerge. it is understood that from january to june this year, huaihua signed 17 new luggage and leather goods chain enterprises, and currently 20 enterprises have been put into operation, and some enterprises have entered the trial production stage.
