how hot is the duty-free market now?

with the gradual recovery of the number of international flights, the outbound tourism market has gradually warmed up, which in turn has promoted the recovery of duty-free sales.

according to statistics from haikou customs, from july 1 to august 25 this year, during the summer vacation, the total sales of duty-free goods in hainan's 12 offshore duty-free shops reached 3.51 billion yuan, with 612,000 shoppers, of which 365 million yuan was spent on "buy now, pick up now" shopping.

according to the measures, the relevant goods sold in the city duty-free shops are exempt from domestic value-added tax and consumption tax. there is no shopping limit for passengers to purchase duty-free goods in the city duty-free shops, but they must comply with the customs regulations that the luggage items carried in and out of the country by passengers should be limited to personal use and reasonable quantities. in other words, although there are differences in the model with hainan's offshore duty-free, the price advantage of the city duty-free shops is the same.
