the three-day "shijingshan cup" national youth archery invitational tournament ended at the shijingshan stadium on august 28. this competition invited 18 teams and more than 240 young people from beijing, tianjin, hebei, shandong and other places to participate.
the competition was organized by the beijing shijingshan district sports bureau and the beijing archery association, aiming to build a high-quality sports competition and exchange platform for young archery athletes. the competition was guided and supported by the chinese archery association and the national youth sports federation.
this competition covers two types of bows: recurve bows and compound bows. the recurve bow competition is divided into five groups according to age: u8, u10, u12, u14, and u16. the compound bow competition has no age limit. each group will have male and female individual competitions, team competitions, and mixed team competitions.
at the competition venue, young archers from all over the country lined up in the waiting area, followed the instructions from the starting platform, walked to the shooting line, drew their bows and arrows, adjusted their postures, aimed and released their arrows, and performed each action skillfully, showing their calmness and superb archery skills beyond their age. during the intervals after each round of archery, the on-site coaches promptly guided the young contestants on the key points of the movements, helping them to hone their movements in the competition, and improve their sports skills and competition experience.
the hebei handan archery team participated in all five age groups of the recurve archery competition. head coach zhang xiaolei said that the team has developed well in recent years and attracted many young children to participate. they brought many young players to this competition to experience the atmosphere of a national competition. "such an opportunity is rare and is a good exercise. especially this time, there is a team competition, which is also an olympic event. overall, it is very valuable for training." zhang xiaolei said.
archery has always been a key advantage sport in shijingshan district. in this invitational tournament, the shijingshan archery team sent more than 80 people to participate, the largest number of people among all teams.
zhang fan, coach of the shijingshan archery team, has been leading the team to participate in competitions all year round. he said that as the host, he hopes to contribute to the development of this project by hosting this invitational tournament, so that more people will pay attention to and understand archery. "it should be said that there are not many youth archery competitions of this scale in china. we hope to give young athletes of different ages the opportunity to participate in archery competitions, which will better promote their growth."
"this competition is a rare opportunity for me. normally, i only have one chance a year to participate in a national competition. of course, this is also related to the fact that archery is a relatively niche sport." fu zixuan, a member of the shijingshan archery team, said, "this competition is very meaningful."
