that evening, the automotive branch of the china council for the promotion of international trade (hereinafter referred to as the “china council for the promotion of international trade automotive branch”) issued a “statement on matters related to the 2025 shanghai international automobile industry exhibition”. the statement stated that the above-mentioned press conference was unilaterally organized by the shanghai council for the promotion of international trade and other units, and the opinions of the parties were not sought for the content of the release, and the existing structure of the organizers of the shanghai auto show was unilaterally changed.

the dispute among organizers of the 2025 shanghai auto show has been made public.

according to the press release released by the "shanghai international automobile industry exhibition official weibo", the 2025 shanghai auto show is co-organized by the shanghai council for the promotion of international trade and the china association of automobile manufacturers (caam).

however, according to the official website of the 2023 shanghai auto show, the organizers of the previous shanghai auto show were the china association of automobile manufacturers, the shanghai council for the promotion of international trade, and the china council for the promotion of international trade automotive industry branch, a total of three organizations. according to this press conference, the 2025 shanghai auto show will not have the china council for the promotion of international trade automotive industry branch as its organizer.

in response, the china council for the promotion of international trade's automotive branch said in a statement: "starting from the 2003 shanghai auto show, i will become one of the organizers of the shanghai auto show."

"in 2002, ccpit shanghai and shanghai international exhibition co., ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with us to jointly organize the shanghai auto show every odd year, and the agreement is still valid today," the statement from ccpit's automotive branch said. "the shanghai auto show brand is jointly created and owned by all the organizers."

in response to this, a relevant person from the china association of automobile manufacturers gave an exclusive reply to the author of "prism": "there is a new cooperation model this year." the person said that the china association of automobile manufacturers has always been one of the organizers of the shanghai auto show, and the specific details should be based on the official public account.

it is worth noting that the author of "prism" found that the shanghai auto show has two "official" public accounts, namely "shanghai international automobile industry exhibition official weibo" and "shanghai international automobile exhibition".

the certification body of the former is "shanghai international exhibition (group) co., ltd.", which issued the above-mentioned press release about the new appearance of the 2025 shanghai auto show; the certification body of the latter is "beijing zhongmao guoqi economic and trade co., ltd.", which issued the above-mentioned statement of the china council for the promotion of international trade automobile branch.

regarding the completely different information released by the two public accounts, the above-mentioned china association of automobile manufacturers person said; "it is true that they were both official accounts before." the information also shows that these two public accounts have been registered for a long time, in august and october 2016 respectively.

the shanghai auto show was founded in 1985 and is held every two years. it is one of the major a-class auto shows in china. from april 18 to 27, 2023, the 20th shanghai auto show will be held at the national exhibition and convention center (shanghai).

regarding the above dispute, the china council for the promotion of international trade's automotive industry branch said in a statement that it is reporting the matter to the relevant departments, and will continue to carry out relevant organizational work for the 2025 shanghai auto show and continue to communicate and negotiate with relevant units.
