On August 27, Huazhong Agricultural University welcomed a special new student, Long Haifen, an Yi girl from Maochang Town, Dafang County, Guizhou Province. Following the footsteps of the volunteer teachers at Huazhong Agricultural University, Long Haifen was admitted to the School of Foreign Languages of Huazhong Agricultural University and reunited with her former volunteer teachers.
In 2017, Wang Xiangli, Cao Yuanyuan and other 13th members of the Hua Nong Teaching Team came to the Weimin Primary School in Gou Diaoyan, Dafang County, and carried out a one-year teaching program. At that time, Long Haifen was in the sixth grade of primary school, and Wang Xiangli was her class teacher and math teacher. During the teaching process, Long Haifen received a lot of warmth and care from the volunteers, and a deep teacher-student friendship was formed between them.
"Under the teaching of Teacher Wang, I have laid a solid foundation in mathematics. Teacher Cao is gentle, beautiful and considerate, and her smile is as warm as the sun." Long Haifen recalled her elementary school days, and many heartwarming details left a deep impression on her. During the college entrance examination application period this year, the volunteer teachers also provided her with a lot of help. Long Haifen said: "The important reason why I chose Huazhong Agricultural University is the help that the volunteers have always given me."

On August 27, Long Haifen left home before 7 a.m. and arrived in Wuhan at about 5 p.m. to report to Huazhong Agricultural University. Zhang Le, the head of the 19th teaching group of Huazhong Agricultural University, and volunteers met Long Haifen at the high-speed railway station and accompanied her to the school to report. Long Haifen had a lot of exchanges with Zhang Le on the way. The two talked about the stories of the teaching process, and the common memories tied them together.
Coming to Wuhan and Huazhong Agricultural University for the first time, Long Haifen felt tired but excited: "I saw the Jianghan Plain on the high-speed train. It was all green at a glance, which left a deep impression on me. The school is very big, and I feel I will live a happy and joyful life there."

On the same day, the second brother Long Junzhi also accompanied Long Haifen to register, and his parents told him to settle his sister down. Long Junzhi said that he was very happy to hear that his sister was admitted to Huazhong Agricultural University. "We are happy for her, and we hope that she can continue her studies after completing four years of university."
Talking about college life, Long Haifen also has many expectations: "I hope to make academic progress, make more friends, and do something more meaningful." She also told reporters: "If I have the opportunity in the future, I would also like to be a volunteer to teach."
It is understood that the teaching relay of Huazhong Agricultural University in the mountainous area of Guizhou began 22 years ago. In the summer of 2002, Xu Benyu went to Gou Diaoyan for a short-term teaching. The following year, he returned to the deep mountains to teach. After his story attracted widespread attention from the society, the university established a graduate teaching team, and the baton was passed on in 2005.
Over the past 20 years, from Xu Benyu working alone to the establishment of teaching teams, the Benyu Volunteer Service Team, and the Red Azalea Charity Society at HNA, the spirit of volunteer service has not only taken root in the mountains of Guizhou, but has also blossomed across the land of Jingchu.
