On August 27th, the Information Office of the People's Government of Liaocheng City held a special session of the Municipal Education and Sports Bureau for the series of press conferences themed "Focus on Overcoming Difficulties and See Progress" to introduce the relevant situation of Liaocheng's sports work since 2024. At the press conference, Zhang Huaifa, Director of the Mass Sports Section of the Liaocheng Education and Sports Bureau, introduced the relevant situation of the 2024 National Roller Skating Festival and the National Roller Skating Series.
Zhang Huaifa introduced that the 2024 National Roller Skating Festival and the National Roller Skating Series will be held in Liaocheng from October 2 to 6, 2024. The event includes four national-level roller skating events as well as intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, food festivals, city walks and other links, aiming to bring an unprecedented roller skating cultural experience to contestants, spectators and tourists.
In terms of events, the 2024 China Roller Skating Marathon Open (Liaocheng Station) will kick off on the morning of October 2 on the roads around the Shuicheng Pearl Theater. The event will be divided into three events: a 3km mini marathon, a 10km quarter marathon and a 20km half marathon. On the morning of October 3, the 2024 National Junior Roller Skating (Freestyle Roller Skating) Championship will be held at the Liaocheng Sports Park Gymnasium. The China Roller Skating (Speed Skating) Open (Liaocheng Station) will be held at the Liaocheng Sports Park Speed Skating Venue from October 3 to 4. The 2024 U Series China Youth Roller Skating Tour (Shandong Liaocheng Station) will be held at the Liaocheng Sports Park Gymnasium and Speed Skating Venue from October 5 to 6.
In terms of festival activities, in addition to roller skating events, Liaocheng will also hold a national roller skating champions into campus public welfare activities to promote the event. During the event, there will also be a national roller skating festival fancy brake night, Liaocheng intangible cultural heritage products, roller skating equipment, food festival trade fairs, Citywalk and other activities.
At present, Liaocheng has formulated a detailed "2024 National Roller Skating Festival and Roller Skating Competition (Shandong Liaocheng Station) Work Plan (Draft)" and established a competition work organization composed of multiple departments. It has also conducted field research and inspections many times to determine the route and venue layout of the roller skating competition. At the same time, it has strengthened communication and cooperation with relevant units (departments) and news media to ensure the smooth progress of various preparations for the competition.
