At the just concluded 2024 World Robot Conference, 27 humanoid robots were unveiled. Humanoid robots are considered to be another trillion-dollar industry and the most cutting-edge industry in the world.
Yuhang District of Hangzhou, which is good at seizing the industry's opportunities, held a conference on high-quality development of the robotics industry on August 27, with the core topic being humanoid robots.
The Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center was unveiled, and academicians and experts such as Yang Huayong were appointed as consultants for the construction of the innovation center; the implementation opinions on the high-quality development of the robot industry were released; the permanent venue for the finals of the Ruikang Robot Competition was established; and the Robotics Branch of the China Electronics Information Industry Federation (in preparation) was unveiled...
The most popular one is the Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center, which was jointly built by the Yuhang District Government, the No. 1 economic district in Zhejiang Province, and Zhejiang University, the most powerful university in Zhejiang Province. It is another cooperation between the two "top experts" in Zhejiang Province.
Zhejiang University is one of the earliest institutions in China to conduct robotics research, and is at the forefront of the country in the fields of humanoid robot technology and talent. Yuhang has also gathered a number of robotics innovation companies such as Shenhao Technology, BlueCore Technology, and Qiangnao Technology, including 7 specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises, 3 provincial hidden champion enterprises, and 15 provincial specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.
Zhu Shiqiang, deputy secretary of the Zhejiang University Party Committee, said that the mission of the Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center is to promote innovation in robot technology through institutional and mechanism innovation and lead the development of the robot industry.
For example, the center will change the traditional idea of describing products with single-point technology to defining technical requirements with real product goals. To this end, the Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center has set up a product planning team to formulate product plans based on market demand; at the same time, the combination of the engineering team and the technical R&D team ensures that the product requirements are implemented.
On the same day, the Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center, in conjunction with the Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City Management Committee, signed contracts with six partner units including the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 11 resident companies including Shanghai Zhuoyide Robot Co., Ltd., and two fund units.
The reporter learned from the scene that the center plans to establish a high-level robot professional R&D team with a total scale of more than 200 people led by academicians of the two academies within 5 years; carry out technical research with humanoid robots as the driving force, and strive to create a national platform; develop no less than 30 advanced robot products, and attract and cultivate no less than 50 robot companies including leading companies, to help Hangzhou City and Yuhang District build a robot industry cluster with international influence.
On the same day, Yuhang issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Robot Industry in Yuhang District (2024-2027)", with the goal of striving to achieve an industrial scale of more than 20 billion yuan for the entire robot industry chain by 2027, gathering no less than 300 robot-related companies, and cultivating more than 50 specialized and innovative companies to form the core force of the robot industry ecosystem.
A relevant person in charge of the Yuhang District Economic and Information Technology Bureau said that in the future, the district will create a "1+3+6" intelligent robot innovation and development system led by humanoid robot innovation, covering six major application areas of industry, services, special robots, intelligent manufacturing, culture, tourism, education and entertainment, trade and logistics, life services, medical care, and urban construction and governance, to form a source of innovation and industrial highland for robot technology with international influence.
