Zaha Hadid, the master of deconstructivism known as the "Queen of Curves", was born in Baghdad, but her design career has mostly blossomed on the international stage. It was not until the Central Bank of Iraq decided to invite her to design the new headquarters that the legendary architect finally had the opportunity to leave a deep mark in her hometown. The design of the new headquarters was inspired by the sloping banks of the Tigris River in Baghdad. This natural form not only gives the building the core values ​​of firmness, stability and sustainability, but also symbolizes the Iraqi people's firm belief and unremitting pursuit of the country's future.

The Central Bank of Iraq headquarters building is 170 meters high. Its design shows a solid and stable structure from the beginning, giving people a sense of strength and security. As the building height increases, the facade of the tower gradually "peels off" to form layers of vertical structures. This unique layered design not only enhances the visual dynamics of the building, but also cleverly combines functionality and aesthetic value. Each layer of vertical structure is like the "exoskeleton" of the building. They rise and gradually decrease layer by layer, bringing greater brightness and sense of space to the building. At the same time, these vertical layers also provide external shading for the double-layer insulated glass curtain wall, effectively reducing the indoor temperature, reducing dependence on air conditioning systems, and improving the energy efficiency of the building.
