On August 24, The Paper reported under the title "Behind the "Bone-Breaking Height Increase"" that Wang Qian (pseudonym) went to the Heze Orthopedic Hospital in Shandong Province to undergo a "bone-breaking height increase" under the introduction of a "medical agent". Currently, the Heze Luxi New District Cultural and Health Center has filed a case against the Heze Orthopedic Hospital and the "doctor" Qi Zhanhai, and the center is working with the police to find another "doctor" involved, Zhang Haitao.

The Paper reported earlier that two years ago, Wang Qian had a "bone height increase surgery" at the Heze Orthopedic Hospital under the introduction of a "medical agent". She regretted it the day after the surgery. The pain caused her to cry every day. In addition to the pain of the steel needle of the external frame piercing her calf, she also felt a foreign body sensation. For this reason, she used painkillers and pain pumps, but none of them could relieve the pain.

She said that in the six months after the operation, in addition to the pain and foreign body sensation from the steel needle, there was also pain and foreign body sensation at the entrance of the intramedullary needle. Her joints were painful and stiff every day, her knees could not straighten, and she was unable to stand or walk at all. She could only sit in a wheelchair. Wang Qian felt like she had become a "disabled person."

Now, Wang Qian's legs cannot support her walking or standing for a long time, and it is difficult for her to find a job that requires walking or standing. She once found a job as a cashier at the front desk, but after two or three months, her legs could no longer support her, so she quit the job.

Currently, Wang Qian rents a house near Shanghai, making it convenient for her to travel to Shanghai for restoration work.

Wang Qian recalled that the "doctors" who performed the surgery on her were Zhang Haitao and Qi Zhanhai. According to the information provided by the "medical agent", Zhang Haitao was from the Rehabilitation Hospital affiliated to the National Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Research Center. But she could not confirm whether the two used their real names.

The first page of Wang Qian's hospitalization medical records issued by Heze Orthopedic Hospital showed that the emergency diagnosis was "double knee varus deformity." Another "operation record" showed that the surgeon was "Qi Zhanhai."

On the morning of August 27, a staff member surnamed Zhang from the Heze Luxi New District Cultural and Health Center responded to The Paper, saying that they had paid attention to the above report from The Paper, and that the Cultural and Health Center leaders and relevant staff had launched another investigation and verification. After questioning relevant personnel and verifying medical records, the Cultural and Health Center has now filed a case against the Heze Orthopedic Hospital and "will handle it in accordance with the law."

Regarding the "doctor" Qi Zhanhai, the Heze Luxi New District Culture and Health Center said it has also filed a case and launched further investigation. As for the other "doctor" Zhang Haitao, the Culture and Health Center is currently working with the police to find him.
