New energy vehicle owners can obtain corresponding economic benefits by discharging electricity to the power grid through V2G piles, and can help reduce the peak load of the power grid. On the evening of the 24th, a total of 120 new energy vehicles participated in the V2G large-scale reverse discharge pilot application. The discharge lasted for 2 hours, with a total reverse discharge of more than 1,700 kWh, which can meet the electricity needs of more than 420 residential users for 1 hour.

In order to cope with the peak electricity consumption, Chongqing Power Department also relies on the valley electricity price policy to guide new energy vehicle owners to charge in the valley period, helping the power grid to shift peak loads. On the evening of the 24th, a total of 75,600 new energy vehicles in Chongqing participated in peak charging during the valley period of the power grid load, and at most more than 260,000 kilowatts of load were given up during the peak electricity consumption period. At the same time, there are 88 charging piles participating in the peak load reduction of the power grid through the virtual power plant model, reducing the peak load of the power grid by nearly 10,000 kilowatts.
