IT Home reported on August 26 that according to a report by Sina Technology at noon today, SenseTime's home robot brand "Yuanluobo" released the AI chess-playing robot Chess Professional Edition, which will be officially launched in late September.

The report said that since chess uses three-dimensional pieces with unique shapes and varying heights, it is very difficult for robots to grasp and identify the pieces.

Compared with previous chess and Go versions of AI chess-playing robots, the chess version of the robot is set with 4 degrees of freedom based on the characteristics of three-dimensional chess pieces, forming a flexible structure with 4 degrees of freedom of the shoulder, elbow, forearm and claw. It has a vertical grasping operation with extremely high precision and stability of 0.5mm, and can clamp quail eggs without breaking them.

According to previous reports by IT Home, in June last year, SenseTime released the Yuanluobo AI chess-playing robot "Go Edition", which has the same "piece confirmation", direction keys and robotic arms as the chess version. In 2022, SenseTime Technology released the Yuanluobo AI chess-playing robot "Chess Edition". According to official introduction, it combines traditional chess culture and artificial intelligence technology, which can not only accompany children to learn and play chess, but also exercise thinking, protect eyesight, and conduct industry chess technical level evaluation.
