An Apple-1 computer owned by Dana Reddington, Apple's first applications engineer, and a range of other Apple-related items have sold for a considerable sum at auction.

In 1978, when the company was preparing to move, there was a pile of hardware in Steve Jobs' office that was about to be discarded. After getting permission from Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Reddington carefully selected motherboards and accessories from the pile.

Now, that same Apple-1 has sold for a staggering $315,914 at auction on August 22. As RR Auctions notes, this commission, previously unknown to the Apple collecting community, has now been recorded as #104 in the Apple-1 registry.

The auction also included an Apple Lisa-1 computer with its original Twiggy drive, which sold for $81,251; a check signed by Steve Jobs in 1976, which sold for $66,844; and Steve Jobs: 3 Polaroids of the Apple-1 Prototype, which sold for $54,904; among other items.
