Recently, there is the latest news about marriage leave in Zhejiang!

On August 20, the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress announced the full text of the "Zhejiang Province Marriage Leave Regulations (Draft)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft") on its official website and solicited public opinions. The deadline for soliciting opinions is September 10, 2024.


The draft has a total of nine articles, including the legislative purpose, scope of application, number of holidays, holiday benefits, holiday management, vacation methods, dispute resolution, legal liability, and implementation date.

Article 3 provides:Employees who have registered their marriage according to law are entitled to 13 days of marriage leave. National statutory holidays and rest days are not included in the marriage leave.

In terms of vacation methods,The Draft stipulates that after consultation with the employer,You can take marriage leave all at once or in segments.

The "Explanation on the Zhejiang Province Marriage Leave Regulations (Draft)" released simultaneously mentioned that, from the perspective of employees, the vast majority of groups believe that the 13-day marriage leave specified in the draft is basically able to meet the needs of marriage; from the perspective of employers, the adverse effects of marriage leave can be effectively alleviated through segmented marriage leave and employee adjustments.



According to the "Zhejiang Provincial Population and Family Planning Regulations" revised in 2021, the current statutory marriage leave in Zhejiang Province is 3 days.

At present, the number of marriage leave in various provinces across the country varies. For example, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces have a three-day marriage leave, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Liaoning have a 10-day marriage leave, Jilin, Fujian, Chongqing and other provinces have a 15-day marriage leave, Hebei has 18 days, and Shanxi and Gansu have a 30-day marriage leave.
