According to the WeChat public account of "Suqian Fire", at 22:05 on August 23, a fire broke out in a shop in Junwangfu Community, Suyu District, Suqian City. After receiving the alarm, the fire department immediately dispatched for rescue. At 22:38, the open fire was controlled and the burned area was about 200 square meters. The fire caused 4 deaths and 2 injuries at the scene of the fire. The injured later died after rescue efforts failed. After the accident, Suqian City immediately established a municipal investigation team, and the investigation of the cause of the fire and subsequent disposal work are underway.

At around 10 p.m. on the 24th, a reporter from Jimu News saw at the scene that the store where the fire broke out was surrounded by iron sheets, and the building was covered by several tarpaulins. Special police and staff were guarding the scene.

Several merchants near the scene confirmed to Jimu News that the fire broke out in an Emma electric bicycle sales store. The owner had another store in a local mall besides this one, and was not in the store that caught fire when the fire broke out, so he escaped.

An on-site staff member told reporters that he had been to the shop where the incident occurred before. The first floor is sunken and is the electric bicycle business area, and the upstairs is a residence.
