At around 4:30 p.m. on August 24, a minibus drove to the door of Chen's home in Taihe Village, Wangji Street, Xinzhou District. Two women in bright red dresses got out of the bus, walked into the house arm in arm, and hugged their elderly parents excitedly when they saw them.

"Alike! Really alike! This family is exactly the same!" Beside them, many relatives, friends and "Baby Come Home" volunteers exclaimed in admiration and witnessed the family reunion moment.

Happy moments of reunion

A woman in a bright red dress named Ah Xi, who has been separated from her family for 21 years, is 53 years old this year. The person holding her arm is her biological sister. On the evening of August 24, Jimu News reporter learned that with the help of "Baby Come Home" volunteers and Liuji Police Station of Xinzhou District Branch of Wuhan Public Security Bureau, Ah Xi, who wandered to Henan, finally realized her dream of returning home.

Ah Xi went home with her husband Zhou Qihou. When the 59-year-old Zhou Qihou was interviewed by reporters, he was as happy as a child. He said that he accompanied his wife home to meet her parents to thank them for their upbringing and to fulfill his filial duty.

"You have a Dong Yong in Hubei, and I am like Dong Yong, who met seven fairies who fell from the sky." Zhou Qihou told reporters. In fact, when Zhou Qihou saw Ah Xi under a bridge in the village in the winter of 2005, she had been wandering for two years and was almost dying.

Relatives search information from Henan

At about 7:00 a.m. on August 24, the front of Liuji Police Station of Xinzhou District Branch of Wuhan Public Security Bureau suddenly became lively, and the director Fan Lipeng hurried out to greet them. Surrounded by the crowd, Ms. Chen, wearing a bright red dress, held a banner and smiled and handed it to Fan Lipeng. The banner was inscribed with two large characters: Helping to find family with deep friendship, the people's police serve the people. It turned out that with the help of Liuji Police Station, Ms. Chen found her sister Axi, who had been separated for 21 years.

Before leaving, Axi's family went to Liuji Police Station to present a silk banner

Those who came to the police station to present banners included Ms. Chen's father, Uncle Chen, relatives and friends, as well as several volunteers wearing red vests with the words "Baby, Come Home". One of the volunteers, Hu Bin, is the key figure in this story. It was thanks to Hu Bin's efforts that Ah Xi, who had been separated from his family for 21 years, finally realized his dream of returning home.

"My name is Hu Hanyuan, Hu Bin is the name I registered on the 'Baby Come Home' charity website, you can just call me Hu Bin." He told reporters that he runs a curtain shop on Gucheng South Road, Zhucheng Street, Xinzhou District, and has participated in the "Baby Come Home" charity event for many years, and has witnessed volunteers successfully helping find relatives many times. This is the first time that he has helped a lost person find his relatives.

Volunteer Hu Bin accompanied Chen's family to Henan to find their relatives

Hu Bin told reporters that in October 2022, Ah Xi's husband Zhou Qihou asked someone to post a request for help on the "Baby Come Home" public welfare website. The request for help said that one day in the winter of 2005, in a village in Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, a woman slept under a bridge for several consecutive days in a trance and was taken in and cared for by a kind-hearted person. The woman's mental state gradually improved, and she established a relationship with the kind-hearted person. Later, with the support of her family, the two got married. Because of brain damage and blurred memory, Ah Xi has never been able to clearly express his family information. Over the years, his longing for his relatives has deepened, and he is eager to find his relatives far away in Hubei.

However, due to Ah Xi's incorrect description, the registered address for finding relatives was Gong'an County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province or Hong'an County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, which resulted in no progress in the search for relatives.

In July this year, volunteers talked about Ah Xi's search for relatives in the "Henan-Hubei" family search group. Hu Bin thought, Ah Xi wandered to Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, which is not far from Hong'an and Xinzhou. Is it possible that he is from Xinzhou?

With the idea of giving it a try, Hu Bin and A Xi's husband Zhou Qihou added each other as WeChat friends.

She said "basket" as "basket"

Hu Bin is 58 years old this year. He is of the same age as A Xi's husband Zhou Qihou, so there is no communication barrier between them.

During the WeChat conversation, Hu Bin asked Zhou Qihou to record a video of Ah Xi, and asked her to repeatedly say the words "cleaver" and "vegetable basket", hoping to identify where Ah Xi was from through her accent.

The reporter saw this video. "A Xi obviously has a Xinzhou accent, especially she pronounces 'vegetable basket' as 'basket'. I listened to it several times and asked other people to listen. I concluded that she is from Liuji and Wangji in Xinzhou District." Hu Bin told the reporter, so he decided to seek help from the police station, street and other departments.

Family search information released in October 2022

On the afternoon of August 3, Hu Bin came to the Liuji Police Station of the Xinzhou District Branch of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau for help, and the station chief Fan Lipeng received him. Through the public security information network, he searched for information and compared it, and found several households that might match the family. The subdistrict office also mobilized grid workers to release information and actively help with the search.

"The temperature was very high those days. Director Fan accompanied me for two days, and we traveled all over Chendun Village, Kongbu Street and surrounding villages. On August 7, we came to the home of Grandpa Chen and Grandma Rao, who are over 70 years old." Hu Bin told reporters that the two elderly people said that their daughter A Xi had been missing for 21 years, and they thought she might be gone. When the two elderly people saw A Xi's photo, they immediately said that she was A Xi, because they looked almost exactly the same. The two elderly people were so excited that they burst into tears.

The reporter noticed that Uncle Chen and Grandma Rao looked like a couple, their daughter also looked a lot like them, and Ah Xi looked even more like her sister.

When the good news reached Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, Zhou Qihou and A Xi were also so excited that they couldn't sleep at night.

Relevant departments of Wuhan Xinzhou and Xinyang Mall further verified the relevant information, eliminating the DNA comparison process; and taking everyone's time into consideration, the time for the recognition of relatives was set on August 24.

As Ah Xi's mother was carsick and could not go to Henan, the two families decided that Ah Xi's sister and her father, Chen Daddy, and others would rent a car to go to Henan to pick up her sister Ah Xi and bring her home.

Henan son-in-law took out 6 big red envelopes when he went back to his parents' home for the first time

Early in the morning of August 24, A Xi's sister, father Chen Daddy and others, accompanied by "Baby Come Home" volunteers Hu Bin and others, went to Liuji Police Station to present a banner and then went to Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province.

The two places are only more than 200 kilometers apart. After more than 2 hours, the minibus arrived at Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. Ah Xi and her sister had already made an appointment and both wore bright red dresses. The sisters met and hugged each other tightly, tears streaming down their faces: "Sister, are you doing well?" "It's been more than 20 years, I recognized you at first sight!"

Recognize relatives in Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County

The Zhou family set up four banquet tables in the restaurant to welcome the relatives who came from afar. Seven "Baby Come Home" volunteers from Hubei and Henan witnessed the happy journey of finding relatives. After dinner, Ah Xi and her husband Zhou Qihou took a minibus back to their hometown in Xinzhou.

Volunteers from Hubei and Henan held up banners to express congratulations at the recognition site

At about 4:30 p.m. that day, the minibus returned to Chen's home in Xinzhou, Wuhan. The two sisters got off the bus hand in hand and met their parents. Seeing their daughter A Xi's rosy complexion and full of energy, the two elderly people kept smiling, showing a comfortable and satisfied expression. Grandma Rao stroked her daughter A Xi's face, hugged her shoulders, and murmured words of longing.

When Zhou Qihou met A Xi's family for the first time, he took out 6 big red envelopes, gave 5,000 yuan to the two elders and 1,000 yuan each to his aunt and four brothers and sisters to express his gratitude.

Relatives, friends and volunteers raised their mobile phones to capture the happy moment of family reunion.

Ah Xi and Zhou Qihou decided to stay overnight and then return to Henan. Their dream of finding their relatives came true, and they were all happy and had no regrets. They said that the two places were not far apart and they could visit each other at any time in the future.

She is the Seven Fairies who fell from the sky

Friends and relatives said that seeing Zhou Qihou always holding Ah Xi's hand, the loving look of the two was very enviable.

Zhou Qihou is the second oldest of six siblings. When talking about Ah Xi to reporters, Zhou Qihou, who is nearly 60 years old, expressed his love for her: "You have a Dong Yong in Hubei. I am like Dong Yong, and she is my Seventh Fairy."

According to Hu Bin, Zhou Qihou and others, Ah Xi was born in 1971 and had been married before, but she was not married. After the relationship broke down, she returned to her parents' home, and was mentally traumatized. She ran away from home for a short period of time many times. After running away in 2003, she lost contact with her parents. Later, she said she took the wrong bus.

Two years later, Ah Xi wandered to a village in Shangmashi Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, and lived under a bridge for a few days before being taken in by Zhou Qihou. Zhou Qihou told reporters that they got along well and their relationship was getting better and better, "She was like the Seventh Fairy who fell from the sky."

Photos of Zhou Qihou and A Xi traveling

When Zhou Qihou was 11 or 12 years old, he developed frostbite on his legs. Because he did not receive timely treatment, the disease became chronic and he had difficulty walking. When he met Ah Xi, he could still walk, but later his condition became serious and he could not walk anymore, resulting in disability. Now he can only travel in a wheelchair.

Today, Zhou Qihou and A Xi live in the town. "A Xi received a disability certificate in 2021, and I am also disabled. Together, we receive a monthly subsidy of 3,000 yuan, which is enough for us to live in the town." Zhou Qihou said, thanking the local governments for their care and help, the efforts of the "Baby Go Home" volunteers, and the attention of the news media. These are all things that promote positive energy and are very gratifying.
