IT Home reported on August 25 that according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple has arranged for all Apple retail store employees to attend a mandatory meeting shortly after the iPhone 16 launch event (expected to be held on September 10). These meetings will be held on the evening of September 12 or the morning of September 13, depending on the store.

Gurman noted that the timing of these meetings is unusual, as Apple typically holds such meetings on Sundays rather than weekdays. However, it seems that Apple will take a different approach to the launch of the new iPhone this year.

IT Home noticed that in a subsequent tweet, Gurman also said that Apple has begun training retail store employees in Apple Intelligence. It is expected that it will be the focus of iPhone 16 sales promotion in Apple retail stores.

Apple Intelligence is not expected to be released in September with the iPhone 16, as its official release date has been postponed to iOS 18.1 in October. Features such as writing tools, notification summaries, and a new Siri interface will be available then, but more advanced features such as Image Playground, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration will not be available until iOS 18.2 or later.

Some analysts predict that AI will increase iPhone 16 sales by up to 10 million units, so it's not surprising that Apple plans to promote these features to users in stores.
