"With the same dream of jointly creating a bright future for education, the educational cooperation negotiations between Guizhou Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have yielded fruitful results." On August 22, during the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week series of activities, Yang Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guizhou University, used the phrase "Meeting in the mountains and the sea, drinking the water of the Pearl River, running in both directions, and being one family" to describe the higher education exchanges and cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong.
It is reported that over its 122-year history of running schools, Guizhou University has always adhered to the spirit of inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, and has continuously broadened its international vision of running schools with a more inclusive demeanor and a more open attitude. It has now established friendly exchanges with 195 colleges and research institutions in 43 countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Yang Wei said that Hong Kong's higher education enjoys a high reputation worldwide and plays a unique role in the new journey of building a strong country in education.
"We make friends through culture, and we become neighbors through virtue. In the next step, Guizhou University is willing to work with colleagues in Hong Kong to continuously explore new models and paths for educational exchanges and cooperation, provide students with more multidimensional learning opportunities, provide teachers with more diversified development platforms, and provide scientific researchers with more diverse research resources. We believe that the educational exchanges and cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong universities will surely usher in broader development prospects, and will surely promote cultural exchanges and integration between the two places, as well as the sharing of beauty." Yang Wei said.
